I came upon a rear gear set.
How do I tell what ratio they are.
Do I just count the teeth?

Thanks.

Still like that color...*G*

Yes, just divide the pinion tooth count into the ring gear tooth count....that's it!

Yep. A 39-14 ring gear and pinion combo is a 2.79:1, a 39-13 is a 3.0:1, a 39-12 is a 3.25:1, a 39-10 is a 3.50:1, a 35-9 is a 3.89:1, and a 44-16 is a 2.75:1 in either the 8" or 9" variety.

Thanks again Pat.
One of these days I'll have to drive her up your way.

So let's see 36 / 11 = 3.27! Yes, that is what I wanted!

Hey I loaded AOL instant messenger so maybe talk to ya tonight. First though I have to go see 800 plus Boy Scouts. The base is hosting a jamboree. Doing an article for the paper.

Later.

Is my math really bad, is 39-10 a 3.5:1? Shouldn't it be 39-11??
