On both sides, just behind the front spring mount, on the outside of the frame rail I have two bolt holes that look like big self tapping screws were shot into the frame and I am pondering welding them shut while I can get to the inside of the frame with a backstop. They have no internal backing plate or threaded boss, just a nasty looking screw tore into it at some point. Were these factory or just some joker hanging an exhaust?

My Jan 65 fastback has two holes in that area. One for a bolt that hold the ebrake cable bracket and the the other just has a bolt in it. I don't know what it is there for.

Ahha. I forgot about the Ebrake already....I am glad you mentioned that. I will just put the brake on and find a bolt for the other hole.

Thanks.
