out of a 67 coupe worth. Guy said it's in good shape,
gonna to try & look at it tomorrow. Just want to get a
ballpark figure on what to offer him. don't want to insult
him, but don't want to get taken either.
TIA, Curtis

I have seen them as cheap as $500 at swap meets. David Kee has them rebuilt for about a $1000 I think.

One advantage of a toploader is eazy top cover access. Take it to a tranny shop that rebuilds toploaders for a quick assessment of condition and recomended repair cost. They can likely quote you a real value for the tranny.

I agree a freshly rebuilt top loader should be worth about $1,000.

Don't forget to print this webpage out when you go to look at the tranny.

I paid about 1500.00 for a good used toploader, and all of the other goodies to convert from C-4 crapomatic to the toploader. It's been about 3 years now and I love it!

I ogt a used one in great shape for $400. A few years ago. Wouldn't be cool it it was a Big input Toploader. Those sell for $800. you could turn it and make some cash for the rest of the parts.
