What is correct?

How do I know what spare my car came with.? How do I know if it came with a space saver? Not that my car is a show winner, just trying to be somewhat correct (though you wouldn't think judging by the red paint and the Magnum 500's ...hehehe). I need a spare. I think I'll e-mail Jason Mountz. I think he must have one.

Most fastbacks with foldown rear seats came with space savers..there just wasn't enough room in the trunk..fastbacks with standard seats had regular full size spares

Thanks Teebone. Mine are standard non-folddown.

Got to disagree with "TeeBone":) on this one. Of all the 69 sportroofs and Mach's I've owned only one had the space saver.

The answer is pretty simple the mounting bracket is different for the standard and space saver spares If you lack the one with the holder for the inflater bottle yours did not come from the factory with the space saver

BTW the one car that had an original space saver did not have a fold down

Got to disagree. Of all the Mach's and sportroofs I've seen in yards, judged and shown there have been very few (I've only had one with a factory space saver and it was a non-folddown car) had space savers.

Have you really seen that many space saver brackets? These have to be getting prtty hard to find
