Getting into a 64.5 six cyl that's been in the family for a long time. Can anyone tell me what this long rectangular black part is? It sits next to the radiator, on the drivers side. My buddy's 65 V8's do not have it. Thank you.

Old school alarm motion detector. I had one back in the 1980's. The screw on the top with the nut at the bottom is for the sensitivity adjustment. If you open it up, you'll find a thin metal arm with a lead weight out at the end. If you shake the car, the weight will move the arm up and down and cause it touch a contact. Someone painted it black. If I remember right, the body is thin cardboard.

That is an FBI high frequency omni-directional short-range radio tracking device. I think you my have an old mob gettaway car there.
