Hello everyon.cleaning up the engine bay and noticed what looks to be bondo where the firewall meets the cowl panel.it looks like it’s under the original paint.was this something the factory put on?

Exactly. And the factory was none too neat about it, at concours you will actually lose points if it isn't a little sloppy.
