I got the engine on the engine stand last week and started removing things off the block for paint. My first question is about the water pump. I doubt the one on there now is original and if it is it is even more of a reason to replace it. The question is what to replace it with. The one is see in my NPD catalog says "170,200 cast iron, correct". Would this be a good replacement?

"If" you are doing a Concours resto, and you are positive that is the correct original pump, get THAT one rebuilt. Look in Hemmings for a place to send it to.

It is kind of hard for me to beleive that this one is original. How can you tell. I should have said this is a 67 I6 Metuchen built coupe.
