I'm still trying to figure out what size (diameter, width and aspect ratio) wheels and tires to buy for my 68. What size do some of you have on your 67 or 68? Do you have pictures of your car so I could see the look? Many thanks.

Currently have 14x6 Cragar SS with P205-70-R14 Cooper Cobra GTS tires. Looks good, but a bit small.

I have a brand new set of 15x7 Cragar SS wheels with soon- to-arrive P225-60-R15 BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. I have mounted the wheels, and the visual difference appears small, but does fill out the wheel wells much nicer.

16" and up is really stepping into restomod territory. Most of the original 67/68 wheels were 14" (steel styled wheels).

Good luck,

Gary

Hey eelkram - nice looking wheels and tires (and car!). What aspect ratio are your tires? 60's? 70's? Thanks.

Front: 215-60-15 on 15" LTD steel rims.
Rear: 225-60-15 on 15" LTD steel rims.
Car has a 1 1/2" drop front and rear; no problems.

I hope to order my new wheels and tires this week (maybe tomorrow!), so this is a *theoretical* response.

I have a '67 coupe. The wheels will be 15x7s with either 3.95" (American Racing) or 4" (Edelbrock) backspacing. The tires will be Radial TAs, either 225/60 all around, or 225/60 in the front and 235/60 in the rear.

I *think* they'll fit...

16x7 Torq-Thrust II's on my '67 . . . I had 14" styled steels before, but these improved my handling 100 percent.

I have 16 x 8 Torque Thrust IIs with 245/45 16 tires. In the front, everything is really tight (I have Wilwood brakes and they push the wheel out something like 1/4 - 1/2 an inch. No rubbing though: the suspension is really tight...

I have 17x8 Boyd Coddington Smoothie II 4.5 inch backspace. 245/45/17 rubber all around. If you click on my sig pic it will load a larger version of the pic. The pic kinda sucks due to the shadows (sun was on the other side of the car). I am hoping to get my dig camera back this week and could take some better pics if you like.
