I know that most of the earlier Mustangs had a single speaker behind the dash and that's it. I was just wondering if the 69's had improved on that or not? I am in the market for a 69 Mach 1, and just now thought about the audio components.

I believe it would depend on which sound system the car came with. ie....AM or AM/FM or AM/FM/8-Track

If it came with the fanciest stereo available at the time, do you think it would have both front and rear speakers?

I believe in 69 you couldnt get the AM/FM/8track, only AM, AM/FM or AM/8track. I have seen a few with door speakers that I believe were original, but have not seen rear speakers from the factory. Not saying there werent any, but hell, most cars Ive seen came with the AM radio, like mine....

I ordered my 69 Mach 1 with the AM/8-Track radio. Car came with speakers in the drivers and passenger doors only.
