They look like the metal trim pieces that wrap around the tops of the fiberglass panels of the rear interior of a fastback. But, not enough curve to allow for that unless there are longer pieces like this in the later fastbacks (67 and later).

Definitely dash pad molding as others have already said -- Dean

All above are correct. I just finished installing similar pieces when I put the dash pad onto my 66. Plus, it's a royal pain locating the screw holes for them if the windshield is installed. I used 2 shortened ice picks for location then a third one to punch a hole in the cover lip. I started one screw in that hole then moved one of the picks over 1 hole and put a screw in the vacated hole.
