I would try to keep it closer to stock. Will you be running it for awhile before paint?
So you vote functional scoop vs non functional, keeping the mach 1 scoop regardlessI vote for the hood scoop.
I'm biased though.😋
Ya I've seen others with that odd 4 pie slice cutout under the scoop, I am cutting the turn signal ovals out along with hood pin holes. Not doing 100% original but keeping most things stock. If you want to stay with an original option, early 69’s that came with the turn signal Mach scoop had a pie cut under the scoop. Heres the only pic I could of mine at the moment. Seems Ford wanted to keep the hood integrity also, but then they quit stamping the pie cut.
I put as many holes in mine as I could
( for louvers) to remove unwanted heat.
The big hole for clearence.
Notice the back of scoop is open for
" cowl induction" as a Jeep is like a wall going down the road so it can swirl better and reduce the air pressure there.
Do what you think is best, or what works for your application.
Seen the picture of the turbo set up & am curious what's it on? How about posting another 1 ( or several) that I can search a round on when I blow it up along with some info .I put as many holes in mine as I could
