Hi all,
About 2 wks ago I ordered a new whole exhasut kit from Laurel Mt. Stang, also ordered a motor mount, upper and lower radiator hoses, complete new e-brake cables and outter shock tower bumpers.
Last Thurs John who is working on my car gets only the exhaust in 2 boxes w/the packing list saying all the other stuff should be there. I callefd them and they said maybe the other box got mixed up w/UPS. Today a box w/only the motor mounts in it (I ordered 1, they sent and billed me for 2!). So I call back and they say that everything else should have been in one of the boxes w/the exhaust and it must have opened up in route and lost. They say I have to make a claim w/UPS!! Is this true! Shouldn't they send me the missing parts and get paid back from UPS???

Fun fun!

tia,
Mike

i think the only thing they are shipping is BS! When I had a prob with restore mustang, they were the ones that had to make the claim with UPS, and they reshipped my order the day that I called about it. I think that you are getting a first class run around and stall. I'd ask for a refund on the parts that you didn't recieve. thanks or the word on LM, I had considered ordering from them in the past but didn't.

Call VISA/Mastercard/or whoever and make your complaint. That'll get there attention when payment is stopped. As far as I'm concerned, this is not your problem.

Tell the vendor you are writing a letter to your credit card company protesting the charge. Spell out in the letter exactly what your problems are with the vendor and cc: the vendor a copy of your letter. It works every time.

I understand what everyone is saying, however, I called LM again and they said that they need to take to John who is working on my car who I've been having the parts sent to to know for sure he didn't get all the parts. He said once he talks to John and UPS he will resend the parts. I guess I'll know more tomorrow when John calls LM. Either way - big PITA!!

For future reference, I have dealt with Mustangs&More, Mustangs Unlimited, CA Mustangs, and NPD with no problems. I rate them in that order (Sue, at Mustangs&More knows my car, my credit card number, my address, etc., so I just call and tell her what I need and it's here the next day). I rate Mustangs Unlimited next because it's out of CA and I don't have to pay tax (wahoo, I'll take the 8% discount and the shipping ain't that much more). NPD only slightly loses to CA Mustangs because the young guys don't seem to be all that interested in Mustangs, it's just a job (but, that's in Ventura, may not be all locations). Eastwood takes the longest to send stuff. Best deal: Guardian Bulldog burgler alarm from Radio Shack ($50 off) and free 12v batteries and transmitter from Bulldog.

When I bought my exhaust from Laurel Mountain a couple of years ago, they had it shipped directly from the manufacturer to me, it was a place right in NY state.I would check to see if they aren't feeding you a line of crap about the lost in shipping deal, as most vendors do the same with exhaust kits I believe.

Yeah - it seems kinda fishy.
LM claims they sent 3 boxes - 1 w/the motor mounts and 2 w/the exhaust and other parts. Motor mounts are small and I wonder why they didn't just put them in the box w/the other parts and exhaust! Makes sense they might have never shipped the other stuff, they get $$ from me for the parts and more $$ from UPS who they claimed messed up the order!
If I tell them I'm calling my VISA - ya think they will really send out more parts!?
I called LM again today and they said to have John call 1st thing in the morning so they can call UPS and get it straightened out!

this stinks!

I've ordered several things from LM, and had a couple of problems. The first time, a couple of parts were on back order, I called and complained and he (don't recall name) said that the torque box had came in that day. He sent it on even though the other item was still back ordered. The other time they sent me the wrong side. They sent the right one out that day, with a call tag to pick it up. Yes they've had a couple of problems, but they've always seemed very cooperative to resolve the problems.

I ordered my interior kit from them. I spent an extra 30 minutes talking with the owner about his son in the Navy. He even let me trade out the dash pad in the kit for all the weather stripping I needed for my car including the vent window seals. Talk to him directly and never mind the kids behind the counter.

Actually, I have spoken to Kevin many times - he knows me very well now :) He said he is resending the parts that were either missing or never included - I think he is doing the right thing - just have to make sure I get them now!
