I pulled my C4 transmission out and need to give it a thorough degreasing.
Do any of you have any tricks to plug the dip-stick and cooling line holes?

Would there be a problem if I was to stand it on it's bell-housing end while cleaning?

Fluid is out, torque converter has been removed.

Thanks

PS..Dad had the tranny "gone-through" before I got the car.
I'm only planning on replacing the front and rear seals, and filter/screen.

There are these silicone plugs that are used for powdercoating that should work.
I think Eastwood sells them.
You could make up some plugs from soft pine that have a slow taper and tap them into the holes, I have done that.
