Wheel Car Tire Land vehicle Vehicle

Wheel Tire Vehicle Land vehicle Car

I've seen the Boss 429 before but not the '69 Mach 1! I figured it be like the first picture (350) and google images aren't helpful. I'm sure 429 is faster, I like the 429 more then GT500, body wise. I'm not sure on the Mach 1 since I don't know the look of it?

Yes, “basically”. The Shelby’s had a quite different fenders, hood etc.. The Boss 429 had chassis modifications to move the shock towers I order to fit the 429 with Boss heads.
Which was faster? Don’t know as I was not around then, born a few years late. It is my understanding the Boss 429 in factory tune was not spectacular. The Mach1 and the Shelby’s it depended how the drivetrain. Was optioned, GT 500 used a flavor of the 428 where the GT 350 was a small block.

The "historical" data says the 429 Boss car ran the quarter 2 seconds faster than the GT500 428CJ car. I believe both of them would be peeling the back tires off for half the drag strip though or the driver would have to be feathering the pedal to get it to move.
