I just purchased a 70 Mach1, it has 15 x 8" Crager SS wheels on it - the front tires 235/60R15 rub on the fenders when turning and eventually I want to get a smaller size tire. The rear wheels also 15x8" with 245/60R15 tires are fine. The car didn't come with a spare tire. I am having trouble locating 15 x 6.5" steel rim. Originally (in 1970) I beleive the Mustang came stock with 14" wheels. The prior owner did a front wheel disc brake conversion and told me that is why he put 15" wheels on it. Does anyone know either where I can get a 15" steel rim? OR could tell me if it would be alright to use a 14" rim if I had an emergency and needed the spare.

It probably wouldn't be safe to use a 14" as a spare. If you get a flat on the front, it won't clear the brakes. You should be able to get a wheel at a salvage yard, there are bigger Fords and trucks that use a 15" wheel that would go right on your Mustang.
