Guys I have no idea how to choose wheel and tires for my my 67 v8 with Shelby drop.
Now I have old 14" with factory size wheels which are rubbish. I plan to buy 15" reams and install something like 205 as I am not fan of wide wheels. Problem is that most of wheels for v8 are 15" x 7" and 205 will be to narrow.
So what is your suggestion ? Can I found 15"x6" ?
What the narrowest tyre I can put on 7" wide wheel ?
I am worry I will need to go to 225" it can touch the fender when turning .. this is what I heard from my colleague (66").

There are many 15x6 wheels that can take a 205 70 15 tire on a 67.

Just be sure to get the correct back-spacing. A 6" wide wheel should have 4" back-spacing and a 7" wide wheel 4.25". I have 235s on my 7" wheels with only 4" backspace and it has a little rubbing. 225s or 215s should be fine.

Thank you links, I was just looking on CjPony.

Those tables are quite usefull !
Anyway I do not understand why for 15/6" rims are suggested 215/70R15.
When I will try to find as close as original 6.95-14 tyres, so P185/75R14 and compare it with 215/70R15 difference (speed) is 7%, while 215/60R15 is just 1% - will it be better choice ?
I also thinking about 195/65R15 and diff is just 0.2%.
Do you know if Shelby drop has any influence on tires ?

A simple speedo gear swap will correct the error from taller or shorter tires. Its a 5 min swap.

My 65 has 15x7 wheels with 4.25 BS. They actually look a little small because Im running 195/65 and 205/65 tires.

On my 67 Im going with a 15x6 with 215/65/15 tires. At 26" tall they will fill the wheelwell and not look to small or to big.

Right at $1000 for the wheels and tires installed at Discount Tire.

You mean those color gears .. I think I know what you mean, mine currently is out of the car.

Anyway they are higher then original ones, but I agree it can look better. Do you know if such set (15x6 + 215/65R15) will not caused any problem on max turns ?
