Well I'm in a bit of a bind now. I ordered some Edelbrock 454 wheels for my 65 coupe and after waiting about 2 months they tell me that they are no longer making them. So now I need some suggestions on a new set a wheels. They have to be 16X8 since I stupidly ordered my tires just after my wheels. I don't really want TTII since my sister has those on her 99 GT and her boyfriend has them on his 65 coupe. I've looked at the American Racing's Hopsters like on gt350Clones but I'm not sure if they are available in the correct backspacing. Thanks for any input.

If it were me, I'd go with some vintage 45s or vintage 50s.
Already scored my set of 454s, sorry you missed out. ::

Did Edelbrock tell you that? I think there's been some shuffling of Edelbrock and their products. 454s are still shown on their website. Id call them directly and inquire: 1-888-321-4456.

I'd return the tires since they were never mounted. 16s are bad news IMO ... shop for some 17s. I know for the price of those Edelbrocks you do have some options from Boyd Coddington.

Luckily I never paid for the wheels. I ordered them from Mustangs Unlimited and they don't charge you for the order until it is delivered. I might try and swap the tires but I'm on a budget and 17" wheels and tires are more expensive.

There's a number of similar wheels out there, look to the Cobra kit car folks:

Discount Tire carries a couple styles of Halibrand wheels:
The Cobra III http://www.discounttire.com/product/wheels/halcob.large.jpg

and the Grand Sport http://www.discounttire.com/product/wheels/halgra.large.jpg
I think the Grand Sport has better sizing, :( .

If you're looking for some track tires, and you're as experienced as I am in off-road excursions, this one could help distract the crowd:

If it were me, today, I'd get these in a heartbeat. Unforunately ( if that's how you look at it), I just put new 15" tires all the way around. Too much investment right now.
