I'm very close to ordering a set of extra track tires/wheels.
I've seen Jay's chart, but still wan't to make sure. I plan on
ordering some steel racing wheels from Diamond racing wheels, the size will be 16x8 with 4.5 backspacing. The tires
would be Kumho Victoracer V700 225/50/16. The car is a 66'
coupe that is lowered with aftermarket control arms (does the same camber as a negative wedge kit) Any thoughts?

I have 245/60/15's on the back with a 4 3/4 backspacing, without cutting any sheet metal.I would think you could fit a 245/50/16 on the rear with rolled fender lips.I don't know much about road racing but it seems you would want all the bite you can get.As for the front,I think 225's are about all that will fit without altering the sheet metal, but I'm sure someone out there has tried bigger and knows better than I do.Keep us posted....
