Well, I got the intake to hold water. Went to install the carb and found the Eidelbrock Performer young JB got on the web (I don't know if through VMF or not) has stripped mounting holes. Question; Helicoil them or tap out to the next size bolt size? I have the tap set and it's aluminun, so that isn't a problem. I will have to enlarge the carb mounting holes a bit too if I tap for larger bolts.

If'n it ain't one thing it's five others.

Helicoil. The same thing happened to me. Except I stripped the holes. Now it holds.

Helicoil. You, and who you end up selling the car to someday, will appreciate it.

If you drill out the holes in your carb, and for some reason have to return it, you are screwed. You may also not be able to get the required larger nuts to seat if the flange is not wide enough.
