Where is your favorite place to buy parts? Swap meet? Auction? Junk Yard? And if you buy mail order, which is the best parts house as far as price and service?

I get my parts from all the above. I've purchased several hard to find parts on E-bay or at swap meets such as in Columbus OH, Springfield OH, Pate TX, or Carlise PA. Also, from the many parts vendors. National Parts Depot and Ponderosa Mustang are VMFers and I believe if you ask, you'll get positive feedback about them. You can also try the Hemmings Motor News publication found at most major book stores or on-line at http://www.hemmings.com. It all really depends on if your looking for reproduction, original, or NOS parts as far as where to look.

I use NPD almost exclusively. When I'm driving by, I'll use Virginia Classic Mustang. I tried RestoreMustangs this past December and they were pretty good (I had some difficulty in getting parts to me timely). I've spent alot of money with Mustangs Unlimited but, in my opinion, the staff is quite rude and very unhelpful if you have any questions. They also seem to be a bit slower than NPD even though they've got a warehouse that's about the same distance from me as NPD (they're in Atlanta and NPD is in Charlotte, both within 4 hours from me).

There is a local mustang parts guy in the Portland area named Bill. His
company is called " Classic Mustang " He has a great inventory If he doesn't
have the part he will bust his ass to get it as soon as possible. He is a
member of the local MCA affiliate mustang club. He knows his mustangs. I could
get new parts from " _______ mustang Parts" for a little cheaper. I don't
know those people. They could have chevy parts right next to my parts in their
warehouse. They could be listening to some kind of music that makes me sick.
If I buy a bumper from them and it turns out to be a P.O.S. who is to say that
they didn't try to foist it off on 14 saps before me. Bill has a face that I
can see.

Used parts I get from my favorite wrecking yard if they have them (same reason)

I bought my parts last December from Restoremustangs because of their 30% off promotion. My brother and mom also happened to get in on this promotion. :) It probably took 2 months for all the backordered parts to get here. I wasn't ready for them anyway so it worked out for me. Next time, who knows where I'll go.

The majority of my stuff comes from NPD. They are the most reasonably priced and the service out of their Michigan store is quick. Second choice is Mustangs Unlimited. They too are reasonable and their service very good. I've ordered from California Mustang but because they are on the west coast and it takes so long to ship to Ohio, I tend to avoid them.

I had a great parts experience last week. Having some front end work done, and needed drag link and p/s return hose. Called Virginia classic mustangs at 4 pm and had parts delivered before 10 am the next morning. Always satisfied with them. Just bought some stuff from RestoreMustangs. com and got everything in 9 days from California to Maine, and free shipping...gotta love it!
