Recently purchased a vacuum gauge to fine tune the air/fuel mixture on my edelbrock 500cfm carb

Where should I hook up the vacuum gauge to determine maximum vacuum?

To the carb? to the tree? to the manifold?

Thanks

You hook it up to any manifold vacuum source. Depending on the carb you are using, you can hook it to the base of a holley, or any where on the manifold.

The tree or manifold are the best places to prevent you conecting to "ported" vacuum.

IMO, a vacuum guage isnt the best way to tune a carb's mixture....they can be helpful (especially with choosing the correct step up spring or power valve), but Ive never cared for setting mixture with one.
