I am rebuilding my 289 and need to know which size carb, a 500 or 600, would be better for all around performance. I am planning on bumping up the compression a little, new intake, and a slight overbore, and a couple other things like headers. What does everyone think?

I say go for the 600cfm. It's not too little or too much for the 289.

Same vote. If you would have less modifications, maybe Edelbrock 500 would do. With your mods, Holley 600 vacuum is probably the best if you like to tune it to match all the other mods.

Edelbrock 1405 or 1406. I did the 1405, and installed a manual choke. Hadn't had much luck w/ electrics. Works Great, and you don't have to adjust it every week.

How many pages of Holley parts do you see in Jegs?
How many for Edelbrock carbs?

any questions?
