I have a 66 Coupe and am in the process of restoration. I have had it imported and it had the original 289 standard engine (not running).

The engine has been removed and I have to make a decision of do I rebuild the 289 or go bigger. I do want a fair bit of power but I'm not expecting to drag the thing if you know what I mean.

What engine Choices do I have????

The 351W is the easiest bigger engine to fit in a 66. You can have problems with the shock towers with other engines bigger than the 289/302. You will need conversion headers for the 351W. There are many performance parts for this engine, so you can get about as much power as you want. You can also build a 289/302 into a very respectible street performer.

I agree about the 351W....those extra 62 cubes make a HUGE difference!!

I've known someone that used ordinary windsor headers in a 65 with a 351....
