If it's a stock 2 row radiator, then I'd go
with a 3 row. Keep the shroud as it will help.
Also if you haven't flushed your cooling system,
you might do that also. I used a Prestone flushing
kit on mine, does a real good job of backflushing
the system. What degree thermstat do you have?
I wouldn't go below a 180* t-stat.
I've got a 66 with a 302 in it, my setup is
a 3 row, shroud, clutch fan, & 180* t-stat.
I rarely go above 195* in stop & go traffic.
And yes I have A/C too. Good luck.
The latest thinking on coolants is to lower the anti-freeze ratio, especially if you live in a mild climate. Most people now recommennd no more than 20-30% anti - freeze, distilled water, and 1-2 bottles of water wetter. Just flushed and refilled my system that way.
An overflow tank can be helpful but is not absolutely neccessary.
So, i installed my engine with a new flexplate ( 289/302 with a c4)
I have a problem with the flexplate balance weight hitting the starter somehow?
What can i have done wrong? Is it possible to have installede the flexplate and torque converter together wrong? All of the torque converter studs...
So, I removed the front suspension springs using the 'usual' internal coil spring compressor. No problems but always a bit nervous.
I've now added new upper & lower control arms and am ready to reinstall the coils. I spent ages trying to get it just right before tightening but backed...
after a total rebuild of my 66 fastback i am a bit disappointed by the car handling at 60+ mph
i still have a few things to do that should improve the car's stability.... i already have an exportbrace installed but still have to install a monte carlo bar... and just as with the exportbrace it...
No it’s not a joke, if we can buy 6 or more we get 25% off. I have one on my daily driver and it fantastic and they have a 30 day warrantee don’t like it send it back..
Anyone interested I’m willing to do the leg work if I can get solid
Many of us have discovered little things over the years that could help others, post em up! Here are a couple:
1.) When removing a starter from a 65-66 with 289/302 and long tube headers, it comes out and goes in much easier if you un-bolt the idler arm from the frame so that the steering...
