Does anyone have any suggestions on how to sell these wheels I have? I don't understand why there are no takers, or what I might do to make them more attractive.

I have advertised multiple places with only one person responding in the last 6 months.

Anyone care to give some feedback? Please?

Thanks,
-Bob

Here's the details:
NEW! 2 american racing 16x8 wheels w/ khumo ecsta 711 245/50x16 NEW!

I bought these 2 American Racing Torq Thrust D wheels with mounted tires from Newstalgia Wheels in tenn for my '66 mustang BUT the backspacing is 4" which I thot would be enough but it's not by about 3/4". Newstalgia won't take 'em back because the tires have been mounted and balanced.

They've never even been on the car (ok, one was put on with 3 nuts to see how bad the fit was, but the car was never lowered with the wheel on). The bolt pattern is 5 x 4.5 and backspacing, like I said, is 4". They come with lug nuts and center caps. Here's a link to the wheels - http://www.newstalgiawheel.com/wheel_detail.asp?subcat3=1011100

The Kumho tires are 25.7" in diameter and 10" cross section. You can look 'em up on tirerack.com
Tire Rack, Kumho 711.

I have seen these wheels on a '68 with stock ride height. They also fit the rear of a '67 with stock ride height, but not the front (with the tires I have on them.) These rims would work for the front if you put on a shorter and/or narrower tire or, you could use 15x7 on the front (giving your car that nice "aggressive" stance).

Note that the bolt pattern is std ford, so there are a lot of fords they will bolt onto. Whether or not they actually fit those cars will depend, of course, on what backspacing the car needs, etc. Measurements must be made and double checked.

Shipping is not included at this price. When I found out these would not fit, I got a pair of 15x7 with mounted tires from Tire Rack in CA to austin. It cost $30 shipping for each one. I suppose that is a good guess as to what shipping might cost.

The price is now $375 plus shipping for both. The finish is the gray painted version.

I am not sure I can answer for everyone, but here is my guess. You bought them brand new for your car (a Mustang!) but can't use them because they don't fit. Someone could probably use them, but there is a fear of taking the chance that they will not fit well on thier car too and the original asking price was not TOO much lower than what a brand new pair with the correct backspacing might run.

If I were you I'd advertise them on Craig's List and just put them out there as Ford, Mopar or AMC wheels.

Hate to say it, but you should have asked/measured before ordering. Dodgestang has a detailed fitment chart.
Yeah, I know. I got impatient. Doh.

I are now a egg-spert on what won't fit.

Thanks. I have them on Craig's. But I did not realize they would fit Mopar or AMC as well.

You should get some decent action for them there since the 4" of backspacing will work perfect for a lot of mopars. Anything with a 5X4.5 bolt pattern will work with those wheels. Most Mopars B-bodies and C bodies and all e-bodies through the late 70's used the same bolt pattern. Good luck on the sale!

I'd be interested if you were local. But by the time I pay to have them dismounted and add shipping cost to MD, the cost to you if I sold them at half price would be the same as you buying them locally.

And this is great...looks like Tire Rack no longer carries the 711, and Newstalgia only carries the 17 inch size! Aaaargh.
