I have a black and white Mach/428 and I am restoring a 70 convertible for my wife. I would like to cruise around in it once in a while but she wants me to paint it white w/ white top and white interior. Can a man drive a car that looks like that or should I try harder to convince her to paint it metalflake peuter or something?

Only if you wear a dress.......lol

Dang! Just when I got used to being "strange", I became a "newbie", then a "tire-kicker". Now I'm a "beginner"?.....hmmmmmm...where do I start?

my boss always said white was a girl color till he bought a white suburban. I guess it all depends on how secure you are in your own manhood.

Exactly.

I drive a 1968 Mustang coupe (pics soon) that is navajo beige... Definitely not a "man's color" but I like it.

Only if you cruise the rest stops in it.

Only if you take it to your next Golf match wearing a pink shirt, plaid pants, saddle shoes and stroker cap. The number 1 give away will be the pink shirt.

Now all that white would be fun to do a bearing repack on. Tell the wife that you will do it if she agrees to wear matching candyapple red overalls and drive around. That should make a good color combo.

Food for thought: Just think, If your weren't where you are you would be somewhere else.

Hell no. A man only drives a car that has Goodyear markings all along the sides plus some other battle marks. The sponsors decide the colors. I could drive Viagra if that would come with the latest Taurus.

white on white on white is hideous! My convertible is currently white on black (black interior & top, white body) and it looks very sharp (the color combination, that is). Without any contrasting colors it is going to look bad, in my opinion.

Maybe you can sway her by convincing her how filthy (and it WILL get filthy) a white top will be after awhile; same for the interior...

Triple white can look very sharp. Ford used it for the 35th Anniversary Mustang, IIRC, and Chevy used it for the 35th Anniversary Corvette and the 30th Anniversary Camaro. The Camaro had the orange stripes to set off all the white.

So suggest a compromise. Do the triple white but use the '70 Boss 302 stripes and the hood scoop. That gives her the color combo she wants and lets you drive the car without having your masculinity questioned.

Its not the white car. Its the white interior!

Another thing, Did you ever try to keep a white interior clean?
Probably only one day at a time.

Only if you wear white shoes and a matching white belt and purse--don't forget the white socks. Sounds more like a tennis car than golf car.

No, you would NOT look queer!! I own a white 66 GT convertible with red interior (great color combo) and get a lot of thumbs up and "nice car." Definetly not a "girly man's" car.
