I keep mine clocked at the 1 o'clock position on the driver's side, and 11 o'clock on the passenger side. Keep me from hitting my leg or knee on them. Same with the door opening handle.

In my vert the only one I care about is the driver side door handle. I just cannot get my left leg/foot in a comfortable position since the inner rocker hogs up so much space on the floor . So I usually ride with my knee leaned on the door panel & my foot flat on the floor . I think that handle is about 11 or 12 o'clock.

This is how my Mustang was set up over 30 years ago with no evidence the window handles had ever been off for any reason.

On my 67 I like handle not to high but as I call it "a natural grab" position. And seeing older car pics, that how they were. Just high enough so leg doesn't hit it.
Oh and in same position required if you have a Deluxe door panel.
