Here in Minnesota, today's weather 9:30am is currently 19 degrees and sunny. Add (subtract?!) the wind chill and it feels like 10 degrees. Good news is the high for today is 32 degrees. If we hit that it might be warm enough to snow more.

What are some issues in dealing with cold and snow on a classic car? I imagine salt on the road is a killer on the suspension.
My cars get garaged for the winter. All finally in the same space on the property since the garage was built this year.
Getting them ready for winter is a lot like storing a boat. Change the fluids, top off and stabilize or drain the fuel (run it so it treats the bowl too) check the coolant/antifreeze, drain the water from the track car (water expands when it freezes) install the rodent control of choice, remove the battery, car cover if your paint is nice, start winter projects.
Road salt has claimed more fender lips and floor sheet metal than I care to think of.

0 degrees, -12 with the windchill. Blizzard conditions and it ain't even bad out yet. But I can't feel my toes, nose, or fingers. Only good thing is I can see how my truck would look with a cowl hood.

Late summer, fall, and early winter are the times to be out here. Spring would be nice, but it lasts about 2 weeks and then it's summer before you know it. But we do love it out here.
I have some family down in AZ, and my grandparents have a house in Sun City they snowbird at. My favorite resort, Cibola Vista, is in Peoria and the air and space museum in Tucson is another destination I enjoy. Hope to attend a Scottsdale Barrett-Jackson at least once.

If I could move our house down there and find something in my field for work I'd be on my way today!

Got plenty of them around my place . And in case you don't know if one stings you in the arch of your foot one dark night it feels like a red hot 16 penny nail then you will need a tetnus shot.
I always hate to see them crawling across my popcorn ceiling .
Ouch! Sounds like the little yellow jacket wasps that hit me a few years back. Yellow jacket stings hurt but usually wear off in an hour or so.
I found a nest in the door jam/front fender of my dad's Club Wagon one year, looked like regular Y/J wasps, but tiny. I call them Pygmy Wasps, they packed a wallop. Their stings were sore for three days!
I got pretty use to checking my boots before putting them on, and checking the bed each night when I'm down there.
I catch a few House Centipedes at night in the summer, harmless but look intimidating, like a centipede with spider legs.

Why does the inside of that door and frame look more like what the outside understandably does? 😵‍💫
Burrrrr 🥶🥶🥶🥶
Worn door seal most likely, it's also the employee entrance on the hospital side of the complex I work at. It gets used frequently by staff.

A guy in my town rides his year round. I'm not certain what the motorcycle is, but it's olive drab green, and the kicker is it has a sidecar!

Was out until after dark last night repairing freeze ruptures. Of course, whenever I plan to have a day off I get slammed. And nice guy I am, I can't say Ill see you tuesday Ive got my feet up and remotely monitoring my pool equipment, besides I have jewelery to pay for :D Being Texas it will be 70* on wednesday so..
70* 😢 -7 here today. Spending my morning at work trying to find the reason one of our hot water heaters decided to pop its safety valve other than its a holiday and cold. Maybe it felt the boiler room floor needed a clean.

The summer of 2010, I installed a new AC/heat pump system in the place we were living. The system came with a set of emergency heat coils for those times when the weather got really low and the heat pump needed help supplying heat to the home. Well, I didn't wire it up right away because "I'll get to it later". Fast forward to January 2011 and the temperature dropped down to 0* that night. I was working graveyard shift, and when I got home, it was 40 something degrees inside the house, and the family was freezing. I could hear the system running, but no heat was coming in. Then I remembered the wiring job I didn't finish, so I went outside and connected that one wire to get the emergency heat strip to come on. Yeah, I was miserable out there doing that, and my poor family was cold all night long.
Reminds me of when I first bought my house, the first winter I found the old furnace had a repaired heat exchanger that had cracked again. House was around 40 degrees also. All I could do was light a fire in the basement fireplace and run the oven with the door open until my uncle and I could install a new furnace. Good times!
