Is there any reason why somebody would cut the two red wires from the square shaped connector, which i believe is for the transmission feed? As you can see in the picture, they cut them, and then crimped them together with a female connector. I also attached a picture from my 67' parts car of what they are supposed to look like. If nothing else, it really dresses up the engine bay right? :loco:

My guess would be to eliminate the lockout switch on the transmission?

I guess i didn't think about that. The PO was going to put an automatic in the car, but i've since purchased and installed a 4 speed. Is the lockout specific to the manual trans?

There was one on my '69 4 speed car...but I bypassed it. was hooked to the backup light switch I have yet to install. I do not know on any of the earlier cars??
