I've been following a couple of posts recently about re-wiring lights, alternator upgrades, etc. The words that I have recognized are battery, smoke, and fire.

So as not to further expose my vast lack of knowledge on all things electrical, can someone recommend some required reading? I found these 2 books on Painless Wiring's website. Custom Auto Electronics and Auto Electrical by Choco Munday and Hot Rod Wiring Book by Tim Remus & Dennis Overholser. Is either one any good? Any others?

Thanks...

Where do you wish to start? Basic electricity? Reading schematic diagrams? If you wish to have a schematic wiring diagram for your car there are several sources, some free on the web.

Probably out of print, but you might find it in a used book store (which is where I found mine):

Auto Engines and Electrical Systems, Blanchard and Ritchen (published by MOTOR). Fourth edition, 1967.
