For the first time since we got the car we can stop it with something other than a block of wood or a brick wall! We rebuilt the rear brakes a while back, but had nothing to connect them to. Number one son got under the car last night and mounted all the parking brake hardware. A quick adjustment and it works! I believe that's the first time in 20 years this car has had any kind of functional brakes! Woo-Hoo!

I'm jealous!! My car has been without brakes for the entire 4+ years I've owned it :(
I finally got the engine running again, so now I need to work on the brakes. I am a real newbie, so I have been avoiding the brakes since I am not sure if I can do it. Time to jump in and give them a try.

LOL! I love that.

When we first moved the car into the driveway, we were worried 'cause our drive is reasonably steep and if we couldn't control it, we'd have rolled it into the kitchen! Fortunately without an engine and tranny, it doesn't weigh much and we could easily slow it down and put it where we wanted.
