I received the letter from the Home Owner's Association today! It's approved with no conditions. Woohoo! This is no April Fools Joke (at least I hope so...).

Time to get started on construction. I'll be posting pics and such as time goes on. Thanks for all the encouragement from VMF.

Congrats, just shows that an OF's persistance can pay off. We expect to see pics of this castle when it is built.

Just wait 'til the neighbors start lining up to use your new facility. The standard line will be "Ya know I was behind you 100 percent on this all the way. Wanna help me change my oil?" :)

That's great Midlife.
What did you decided about your brick/siding issue?

Hey Midlife, Congratulations!
I've followed your story pretty closely over the months. We are also in process of getting plans engineered and county approval of our "Pony Palace." BTW- I love the name "Garage Mahal."
We also looked closely at your plans. Ours is a 26X45 two level attached to existing house. There will be a 17x26 ft loft with bathroom. 20x8 garage door on front and second driveway on the side with 10x10 door. We live on a corner. Extra covered parking/outdoor work area behind the garage too.
Our neighbors will be partying in the streets that our cars will finally be off the streets.
I'm eagerly awaiting the photos of your progress.
Can't wait for the construction to begin.

Congrats, Midlife. I'm very happy for you. I guess you had a pretty good April Fool's Day. I hope the construction goes fast and safe.

The apartment I'm moving into is 740 square feet total. Your cars have bigger living quarters than I do.

The only upside to mine is that it's 15 minutes to the World Trade Center.

The President of the HOA Board of Directors is my neighbor...he just dropped off the letter instead of sticking a 34 center on it...he's cheap.

Thats why I put mine up with NO PERMITS! Nothing motivates you to get a project done quicker than that. Now I heard they do arial photography and check for that kind of thing..I guess I'll find out. Good luck.
