Just wondering what the worst that has ever happened to your mustang was???
I know for me it was about 2 weeks after I got my car (almost 2 years ago), I was driving along, and the radio cut out, smoke came out from under the hood, and the gas pedal dropped to the floor. Apparently, after much anguish and searching, a friend and myself figured out that the battery had come loose from it's holder, the positive post tapped the metal of the engine compartment, and shorted out the entire electrical system in the engine compartment. It burned so hot it actually desintigrated the linkage for the gas pedal. That really sucked!!! Thank God the engine didn't go on fire.

That has to be the all time WORST thing to happen to a vintage mustang. My worst was on the 95 Boss some guy ran us off the road. said he didn't see us then laughed about it!!! SWMBO was about to kill him LOL (her car) $2900 in damage. the 67 I have been really lucky with not even a door ding. John

Someone took off all but my locking lugs (2 per wheel). I lost my rear wheel doing about 60 on the highway. 1800 in damage.

Did happen to my 66 but rather the 98. It was resting in the garage for the winter with the cover on it and I shut the door to the garage and a shelf fell over on the car. Ruined the cover and $500 damage (guess I was lucky compared to others) but the car is still practicaly new, it only has 4,200 miles on it.

I blew the crank right out the bottom of the block, well not the whole crank, just the first two cylinders worth. After I built a new engine for it, I lost control and took out two parked cars with it. I ended up pushing the fan through the rad AND a/c cooler (i think thats what its called), pushed the passenger fender behind the tire and couldn't open the driver door. Don't worry it wasn't a vintage mustang, it was an '83 GT.

2 months after i got my Mustang, i was driving through a store parking lot and some genius decided to put a sewer right before a bend in the main drive. Well, in Wisconsin the plows screw up the sewers in winter, so the sewer sat about 1 inch under the pavement, my back tires didnt catch right, and next thing i know im on grass 10 feet over the curb.
Well, 2 new rims, 4new tires, and new struts later i was back on the road, with a fear of parking lots.

about a year ago, it was real muddy
so i had some wood palets around so i could
walk around better. i told my wife to move my 68
coupe, well she hit the edge of a pallet and it flipped
up and but a mar in the passenger side quarter panel.
but i did not blame her. . then a few month later in the summer
i am driving down the interstate and the shoulder belt few out
of the window and went bang, pow, snap, on that same
quarter. this is just a start.

i was driving in the busy traffic and then all of a sudden i could only shift to 3rd gear so i spent about 50 stop lights stopping and starting back up from 3rd gear! Then once i pulled into my drive the antifreeze starting shooting at me from the heater!

It was stolen. Happen to be during a police strike so there was no one watching for it. Luckily it was a rainy season and the kids that stole it couldn't drive. They found it the next day 5' from the rivers edge, the thiefs had welded the clutch together spinning the tires and then stalled it. Couldn't get it going with no clutch.
Second place was the front u-joint snapping under hard acceleration and the drive shaft acting a a poll vault for the car. Fun is.

Had a tire bubble up on me coming in to Charlotte last year on my 68 fastback for the 35th celebration. Luckily, it didn't come apart. On the way home, second day out, the other rear tire went, but stayed together. Ended up buying 4 tires to get home. SWMBO was real impressed!

I was at a traffic light about to turn right when a drunk in a HUGE Eldorado (70's) ran into my '66.
