Hey Everyone,
When I recently got my latest project (1969 Coupe) and my first full restore I was happy because it came with three hoods which the previous owner told me were all OEM including what I was told was an original Mach 1 (a bit of a pack rat on parts, as he found them he collected them).

My body guy looked at them and unfortunately all of them would need significant work. Apparently amongst typical rust issues for a 42 year old car they also suffer from a common issue where they are warped around where the hood would connect to the hood hinge.

My question is are these hoods of any use to anyone and at some point may be resell-able? Or are they a part of the growing pile of once proud muscle cars scrap heap?

Well, since 69 hoods are not available new at all, anywhere, you should consider selling them.

Really? Is there that much difference between OEM and 69-70 Repro hoods?
They are 1970 hoods. The frame of the hood near the front differs between 69 and 70. Look the same closed, but someone who knows, such as a show judge, or a buyer, will be looking for it.
