I currently have the rear assembly from a '68 and it's too wide for any of the wheels I want to use. I'm located in DFW but willing to drive a few hours to pick one up. Got a # for a local shop that is supposed to be able to narrow it, but I have not been able to reach them.

I may be selling a bare 9 inch axle housing. Correct width with stock rusty 65/66 axles. I won't know until i finish installing the other 9 inch I just bought, four link setup.

I have a 9" housing and axles, and I am in Richardson. $350 for the set up, you would need a 9" pumpkin.

Or snag a 75-80 Granada rear axle. They came in both 8 and 9 inch and IIRC, About a 1/2" narrower then a 65-66 Mustang. Spring Perch location is the same. Since the axle tubes don't neck down, it'll lower the rear slightly

Thanks for the responses! I neglected to post that I want to stick with the 8" because my 302 isn't putting out enough HP to warrant upgrading to a 9".
