A muffler shop that has never heard of an X-Pipe... there is a very simple solution to this dilemna: FIND ANOTHER SHOP /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif. I mean that, they are obviously not up to date or even close since X-Pipes have be around for well over a decade now.
Take them two mandrel bent 45s and tell them to slice off a piece of the curve and butt them together and weld (the curves, not the pieces/forums/images/icons/wink.gif.
I agree with Jay. Find a shop that knows what their doing.
You will love the sound the X pipe gives your car!!
