Hi, I am a girl almost 16 and have a 1966 mustang that i am fixing the brakes on. My question is, will a '67 Dual MC (for safety) fit on a '66 with drum brakes, without a power booster?
Thank You

I have a '67 booster w disk brakes on the pictued convertible. If you want an expert answer...go to www.martelbros.com. they have been doing performance mods for years and helped me a bunch with technical questions (they also stock the parts!) Glad to see a young person so interested in the hobby!

You can switch to the 67 MC, just be sure to get the MC for drum brakes. Use the old pushrod out of the single MC. Add a distribution block also. I just did this exact same thing on my 65. Do a search and you will find more than enough info. If you need adapters to mate the lines up go to a parts store like pep boys.

This is exactly correct. Be sure to specify a drum/drum MC - visually the two bowls will be the same size.

Also if you can get a MC that does NOT have the push rod installed! They are a bear to get out, some remanufacturers put them in, some don't; get one that is just rattling around in the box. As mentioned above, use your old push rod.

You can usually find someone in through the VMF want ads that will sell you a distributiuon block (any 67 to 73 one from a Ford car will work) for a reasonable price.

a distribution block is a small brass part that mounts on your inner fender. you have one currently in your car, but it will not work properly with a dual MC. it`s purpose is that if one of your brake lines fails it will shut off that area of your car where the problem developed, either front or rear.
you might try a search on this subject. there`s a bunch of info on it. I changed mine over to dual and it wasn`t that hard to do.
