Ya I know I don't post often for you all to remember all of this, but my sig line does show one of the fastbacks on the Rotiss.
But because of the Coupe-to-Fastbackc conversion project (the Hulk) I needed some room, so I finished off the required sheet metal stuff and sent the Raven to the media blaster. Here is what that looks like at my nephews shop:

The grey stuff is raw metal.
Here is a shot from the rear

Bottom, prepped for torque box, We aren't ready to paint the entire bottom, but need to prep the area for the torque box:

Making sure the bottom is butt smooth, we apply a thin coat of mud. The bottom will be be gloss black as I intend to drive this thing a lot, so we need to make it smooth:

Again, different side--the t/b joins the outer sill to the inner frame, ala convertible

Even the lower quarter join in wheel well is finished.

Top of torque box in. As this unit is a triangle welded solidly between sill and sub-frame it helps to strengthen the firewall area and spread the loads to the outer sill.

Knocking the welds flat.

Both, smoothed down -- ready for Bondo!

I have some restomod stuff going on in the front, so off to the shop tomorrow to put in a new core support.

One of these days I'll get one of these things done

It took about 4 hrs to do the passenger side as there is a lot of trimming you need to do on the box top if the floors are already in. And you need to take the pre-built box apart at the factory spot welds. This is some thick stuff (14 ga if I remember right). The drivers side took half of that time. Less triming and it just flat fit better.
All told about 8 hrs to do this including prep. If we did this every day, maybe 4.
But, you could probably double this time if you did this on jackstands. This was a PITA to do even with all surfaces available at the twist of the Rotiss.

Some things to mention about Rotiss restorations.
I've done work on the bottom of this car before I built the Rotiss. After I put it on the Rotiss, I noticed that there is just no way you can do the same quality of work on your back as you can when the panel is right in front of you vertically.
The amount of time it takes to do things on any part of the car (roof, sills, floor, etc) goes way down.

Since time is money it just costs less to do it this way. On top of that the qaulity goes up by leaps and bounds.

So it's easier, takes less time, quality goes up, costs less.

Kevin -- And after all of this work, it's going to be a "RestoTech". Although the body will remain mostly stock, it will probably have few 65 mechanicals or interior.
I have other cars I can put paint dots on!

Gottya! No problem with that. I was playing with words mostly....in that, a "thorough" job is being done. I hear you on the whole "dot" thing...it really doesn't make sense if you actually intend to use the car IMO.
I see you are fairly close to me..I'd love to come by and check out your setup....and pic your brain of course.

Hmmm, I must losing it as I'm usually the first guy out of the box with the double meanings...
The car is in Auburn (on the hill overlooking Auburn Downs).
It will be back to my house in Maple Valley in 2-3 weeks. We only get Saturdays to work on this, so this takes some time. Meanwhile the shop is a disgrace. There is crap everywhere from welding up the coilover and fabbing up the rear quarters on the Hulk.
