Well, the kid came and went...will kinda miss him. He had the guts to ask ALL the questions. He's moving on with his life and I wish him the best. Truth is, one has to be handy with a wrench and have some mechanical knowledge to keep these old stangs a runnin! :: Its all part of the fun of owning a classic car. I could see it being a nightmare for some though.::

This should get locked to the top and be required reading for anyone interested in buying an old car.

Maybe we will save others from a similar fate :p

I do miss reading his posts and he gave me a realization that i have a lot to be thankfull for. If it wasnt for the fact that my father was willing to help me with my car and had some experience working on cars i think i would have gotten fed up and quit to.

I was going to respond to the origional thread But after reading the rest of the replies, I figured, why bother!

Wow what a strange trip it's been. I hear he's fine and driving a honda box now.

Great, my doctor just lowered the medication I was taking to read his posts. Now I fear that I will suffer from Post Traumatic WantA GotA HadA67Coupe Post Stress Disorder (PTWGHPSD) :horror: :horror:

Oh, the humanity

Do you think he'd be smart to trade mark "WantAGotAHadA"?? Do you realize how many others would have to pay royalties to also use this term?

My daughter's term would be " WantAGotA..I'm happy now. C'mon Red, let's go zoom"

I try to stay out of controversial posts, so just started ignoring the kid, because he could get my blood boiling faster than my own kids can.

I doubt we've heard the last of Alex, though. He'll be a Darwin Award candidate soon enough! :peeping:

Johnpro, you articulated my thoughts exactly..!! :wall: I do hope he doesn't become a Darwin Award candidate though. I've heard that God looks after drunks and fools, and I don't think Alex was a drinker. ::

Well, that ruined my day.
Should be mandatory reading for anyone that srarts a post with "I'm 15 and my parents bought me a mustang".

For the most part the community was very patient with Alex. In a way I feel bad for SG69, it was great how much he was willing to help.

I agree that we should peg this thread to the top of the forum, but only once a year, for a month. It will become a cult classic, sort of like Christmas Story, only for cars: "Don't get a Mustang, you'll shoot your eye out" - ooops, I mean "You have no tools and are not smart enough to learn to work on one". :joker: ::
