Just bought my project 1966 Mustang with 200 6 cylinder CP. The guy I bought it from handed me this thing a said it needs to be installed. What I have learn is that it is a coolant filter but where does it go?

I would put it in and KEEP the cooling system clean. The heads & engine block can continually "shed" particles that are better off plugging this filter than your radiator. I have a Tefba filter on my '66. It goes in the upper radiator hose. We would need a pic of yours to see where it might go.

If you're taking your water pump off that's a great time to flush the water jacket. Take the heater hose off the side of the head and connect a garden hose there. Turn on the water and let it run a while. Put a finger over a hole in the front that will spit back at you to increase the flow into the engine. Spray into the front of the open water jacket too to really stir up the sediment and carry it out.
