This should take care of you. As I recall one of the reproduction letters has the post/pin in a slightly different location than the 69/70. I would recommend laying these holes out on some cardboard to test letter placement before drilling holes in the trunk lid.

If possible a vinyl box with all the letters accurately cut out by a plotter would be best. You would only have to measure the surrounding box rather than each letter. Each letter could be placed on through the empty vinyl letters missing in the box. When done, peel off vinyl box.
I used to work as a sign maker so that’s how I would do it since they are stick on letters.

 

As a side note, does anyone know how to get the OE pin on letters off the old trunk lid without breaking them? I don't see any obvious way to take them off

 

Pry them up with a plastic interior trim tool.
