Good, solid car for restoration.
Will consider serious offers.
Rare, 366 made. Last of the true Ford muscle cars.

Have Marti report.
Runs, little rust.

Car is in Orlando.
Serious buyers can call my cell at (407) 493.2355

Thanks,
Phil

The car runs strong. Little rust.
I decided to restore it myself and sell it at
Barrett Jackson in W Palm Beach in March, 07.

After contacting a collector that has one R code and exhausted searches for more, I decided it would bring in a lot more than a plain jane Mach1.

Thanks for the interest.

Best,
Phil

i dont think its his car he had rust in the hood and his was just getting paint sdescions on 10-26 this one on ebay is painted ( he says less than a year) and and if you ask me the underside is real bad for a full restoration!

Qcode:
No, it's not my car.
Im not sure what your referring to on my cars underside.
There is little rust and I am in the middle of restoration now.

My "R" code is in VERY good shape. I am replacing the hood although the rust was repairable I would rather not have any bondo on the car if possible.

I will post pics once I get back from my cruise (writing from the ship now). I'll have the car on the rotisserie next week so proper and accurate pics of the underside will be easy to take.

This car is identical to mine. Its serial number is 169 and mine is 171. Both were built on the same day according to Marti reports.

Even more coincidental is the cars both reside in Central Florida and were originally sold in PA only a few miles from each other and only two weeks apart.

The owner never returned my emails but I got a form response from what looks like a dealer.

I would appreciate holding comments on my car until you actually look at it. Since your close by, I welcome your visit and would love to discuss the car in person.

BTW, the R code on Ebay is up to $35K as of today and its just an "OK" restore IMO.

Trust me when I say, my restore will be much cleaner.

Best,
Phil

no no no no no !!!!!

you took this the total wrong way! i meant the car on ebays undersarriage is not up to snuff , NOT YOURS, im not bad mouthing your car at all, as for the hood the picture of his car looks just like yours the only way i could tell it apart was the the hood in your pic and the hood in his!! i new it wasent yours as you said you where choosing colors for the resto , i new it wouldent have been do yet.

I was not talking bad about your car i said the underside of the car ON EBAY was not up to par for them to say FULL resto!

sorry if you took this the wrong way !

Oh, Its weird how different people read things different ways.
My wife read your post and said exactly what you just did. I read it and thought you meant my car.

No worries.

I do agree with you the restore is less than what I could be satisfied with. Its not a top notch "Barrett Jackson" quality restore.

I think if it was, this car could bring in +/- $50K.
If he gets $40K , he should be happy.

We need to catch up sometime. I love talking Mustangs as I know most of us do.

Best,
Phil

well hr said on ebay "History - I am the 3rd owner. I have owned the car for 2 1/2 years and have completed extensive restoration of the car. The car is originally from central Pennsylvania. The 2nd owner and the original owner lived in the same town. The 2nd owner is a mechanic and runs his own garage/shop. He removed and rebuilt the engine, tranny, and rearend prior to my purchase of the car."

i know he dident say concoures restoration, but he said "extensive restoration "

and althought the underside seems very clean i wouldent call it a "extensive restoration "

it is heavy on the undercaoting ( which i did to my convertable but i drive it and wanted maximum protection) the front croos memeber looks beat up the rear end looks like my 5 year old painted it, overall im just nit picking but for what they are asking for the car and how they advertise i think i can nit pick!

The underside should be treated as the body.
Grind all scale rust till metal is smooth.
Use dremel tools and sandblaster to get into all areas not accessable by hand grinding.
Use sandable primer and fill small pin holes left behind from surface rust.
Sand and putty as necessary.
Repaint using proper frame semi gloss black.

All hardware needs to be wire brushed or replaced to remove any surface rust.
A good spray on rust preventative added to all threads.

Remove any/all dents in the oil pan or replace.

Remove and replace all rubber bushings.

A good concourse restore should hold up to mirrors placed under the car and the undercarrage should be as nice as the body.

This is of course if your going for the "Barret Jackson" quality look.

If yor going to drive the car, then spray heavy coat of rustbullet followed by tar type undercoating. But dont try to sell the car as a conscourse restore becuase it will fall short.

Best,
Phil

BTW, the R code on Ebay didnt make reserve and last listing wasd $35,100.00.

This wasnt a bad price and IMO the seller should have taken it based on the pics.

I personally would have set mine at $35K based on the restore quality. He probably would have gotten a bit more interest when bidders realized the reserve was met.

The guy never wrote me back so Im not sure how dillusional he was regarding his reserve.

R codes are very rare but take a special "in the know" buyer to appreciate. I dont think Ebay is the proper venue.

Best,
Phil
