I'm at the point of deciding whether to rebuild my current engine, or put in a crate motor. I have a 289 4v with C4, and I've thought about replacing it with a Ford 351W crate motor (along with a strenghtened C4). My question is, does anyone know if a company builds a complete 289 crate motor? I would like to avoid the 289->351 conversion, if possible. I tend to favor crate motors, since they have been factory designed and tested (especially if its a Ford engine). I guess I could have the 289 rebuilt locally with Edelbrock Performer components, but I would rather go with a 289 crate motor, if one exists. Any ideas?
