Just pick up a 1966 Mustang for the Wife (Always wanted a 66-68 Mustang)
Driving home car had what appeared to be missing.
Had a mechanic take a look at it, found 2 vacuum leaks and timing off. had it timed and the vacuum checked.
Will start and idle with no issues, once you start to drive, would get to about 10-15 MPH and experience "tippin" feels like the engine is missing, but once I accelerated, it would clear until I eased up on the accelerator. Idle and acceleration no problem, just at a constant cruising speed.
Mechanic recommended rebuilding carb (Holley 4150), I chose to replace with a Eldelbrock AVS 2, same issue....
He changed out and tried different springs and pins within the slop chart, smoothed out some, but did not eliminate the problem. Fuel pressure is running 7.5 psi
Looking to see if anyone has experienced this issue or have any suggestions.
