Cheap 327-332cid :
Cast Scat 3.25" crank with Ford con rod journals. Your old 289 rods with piston end resized to Chevy pin. Either KB322 pistons or as I am planning KB111 or KB100 left hand exhaust pistons.

Cheap 347: Northern Auto Parts, for example has $699 kit.

I don't have any experience but I just don't like 5.4" rod 347s because they have piston pin in the oil ring land.

If you upgrade to forged crank, H-beam rods and forged pistons, the price will be about double.

HTC (Hank the Crank), Buena Park IIRR has probably forgotton more about stroking an engine than most know!

I hate to be a nay-sayer, but the 289 isn't the best candidate for a stroker. It can be done, but a 302 block, with its slightly longer cylinder walls would be a better candidate. Sell the 289 and buy another block. Or, add a supercharger to the 289... ::

Incorrect. A 289 and 302 share the same cyl bore length. This is an urban legend that simply will not die.... ::
I've seen this type of reply on many boards from many people. And as I've stated before, there are two opinions on this subject.

FWIW, check out a thread on the subject and note the "opinion" of Mark O'Neal. He is one of the owners of CHP and has seen a few blocks to compare in his time.

Now, whether or not you put stock in his opinion or not isn't really the issue. Ford and virtually every reference book I have on the SBF states the 302 bore is longer. It may in fact be barely measureable and it may in fact be non-existant in some blocks. Block casting is not an exact science and variances will occur. But the references are still there. People say they've personally measured them and found them the same. Fine. How many were measured out of the millions cast.

I don't have a dog in this fight and I've already built my stroker. And if someone else wants to have an opinion that the two blocks are the same, that's fine with me. ;)

"Old wives tale"....no. Difference of opinion....yes.
