Today I pulled the starter off my '65 to try to determine the origins of its 302. I got the following:
34 (very large)
E7TE
CA
S (very large and sideways)
Then I got what I believe to be the date code:
8G29
From what I understand, the E7TE means it was cast for an '87 truck, but the date code seems to be July 1988. How can this be? Also, what do the "34", "CA", and "S" mean? Am I all screwed up?
