Converting my 6 to a V8 and wondering what to do for steering. Can I just rob a V8 66 of it's steering components? I'm getting new tie rods while doing my suspension so those are covered. I guess i'm going with manual steering. Is my steering box ok?

Also someone here mentioned that the I6 power steering stuff was valuable. Going to try to sell locally and wondering what kinda price should I ask? I'm not trying to sell here so please don't delete my thread. Just trying to get knowledge of how much the piece is worth. It is in working order and is complete. The rubber gromet that covers the ram is shredded but I figure that would be a cheap fix...

Here's some info that will help you out...

The steering boxes and upper/lower control arms are the same between 6 and 8s. However, you will need a V8:
Pitman arm,
idler arm,
Centerlink,
Inner/Outer tierods,
Coils,
Spindles/Brakes

If you find any that are already used, make the sure the ball joints are in good condition. In all likely hood, they won't be; and if you're going to spend a lot of time under your car putting it in, you might as well do it right.

CSRP has a 6-8 converstion package that has not only the brakes, but the steering as well. The only thing you'll need are V8 coils. You can't beat the price or quality.
