67 289 OE engine gauge harness w 100 amp alt.

My OE engine gauge feed harness is in excellent condition(orig wrapping intact). Am I safe using the alt. gauge connection w my 100 amp internal reg. alt. ?
I'm using elec. rad fan. Thus the 100 amp alt.

I would think so as the gauge is just that- a gauge reading amps. It's not a limiter/restrictor/etc. m2c anyway

Are you talking about the Ammeter gauge? If so, it will not function correctly with the new style alternator. I would remove it and replace it with a Voltmeter gauge.
