Hello,
actually i restore a 67 GT fastback A-code numbers matching. The seller of my car says the car is untouched.
Marty report reads A-code GT 289 4V 3speed, closed crankshaft ventilation, exhaust emission control.

I have 2 Carbs comming with the Car.
one is a 4100 and second a 4300.

tha car is produced on Okt. 29/ 1966

i heared different opinions about the correct caburator. 4100 or 4300

thanks a lot
Willy from Germany

i dont know a lot about 67 cars as far as factory correct but i have never seen a 4300 autolight on a small block! like i said i could be wrong but i have seen a few 4300 carbs ( i collect the 4300D 351 cobra jet carbs)

Yep... first year for it (was used on the 68 small block 4V's also)

Ditto.
Dad and I are original owners of our 67 fastback GT A-code 289 4V. Came (as Dad ordered) with closed crankcase, no emissions, 3 speed standard (subsequently changed to correctly date coded 4 speed, which Dad WANTED all along). Carb is Autolite 4300. Check the 1967 Ford shop manual for which suffix designation is your exact one for your 4300. I think ours was 4300-DF, but my memory is fuzzy here. Microscopic differences between these 4300 carb versions were due to the car having automatic or standard transmissions, smog equipped or not, etc.

Well Willy,

the 289 A-code (4V) got the then new Motorcraft 4300 carb for emission and fuel economy reasons with MY 67. The K-Code (4V HiPo) retained the 4100 manual choke.

As you are writing from Germany I wouldn't care for the carb because in Deutschland there isn't any Mustang concours judging. The only hurdle you need to take is the german vehicle inspection (TUV) but these guys normally do not care about carbs as long as they look original.

So you may stuff that reliable 4100 on your intake and hide it with an air cleaner housing.

Best regards from Cologne!
