Hello, I have a '68 mustang and the front window regulators wore out. I purchased new aftermarket ( all references say for '68 only) and installed them. Now the windows do not roll all the way up! The vendor of the parts thinks I might have a late '67 build car and I need to use the '67 regulators ( all references say for '67 only). There is NO adjustment to make it go higher, the regulator is simply at end of travel. About 5/8 inch gap. Any thoughts?
I saw a reference to this issue in a thread by BlackCobra but it was two years ago.
I have ordered the '67 regulators but What A PITA!!!!! Don't know if it will help anyway!

Is the metal on the bottom of the window glass catching on the felts or the door frame? You might need to adjust it in or out some.

There's also an upper window stop or two in the doors, completely separate from the regulator. One of those might need adjusting. I think there's a good breakout diagram in the shop manual or there's a West Coast Classic Cougars video or two about window adjustments on Youtube (Cougars are very similar).

Hello magnus, thanks for the reply. The only thing changed was the regulator. I have now also tried the 67 version and it makes no difference. Both the 67 repro and the 68 repro look exactly identical to the one that came out of the car yet don't push the window far enough up. The window goes up straight none of the stops were adjusted and there's no binding. The regulator simply tops out before the window is all the way closed. If I disconnect the regulator the window goes further up very easily. I am at a loss...
